Having arrived a couple of days before some of the MST members took the chance to look around Dundee to get their bearings and get a taste of the city. They visited the Howff, the 16th century burial ground. "Howff" means meeting place, and to this day people meet and office workers take their lunch amongst the flowers and the graves. Visits to the Jute Museum and Discovery Point to experience, in some small way, life aboard Scott's ship as they journeyed to the Antarctic. In the evening MST members from all over the world gathered for their first social gathering for some while.
